Problem: When user clicks on PeopleTools > Web Profile > Web Profile Configuration, clicks Search > Dev, and then clicks the Help link, the following message appears:

Help cannot be displayed because no help topic was found for the help context ID "WEB_PROF_GENERAL".

Solution: The PeopleTools PeopleBooks CD was not installed.

To install, follow these steps:

1. Create a directory on the hard disk and the PeopleTools PeopleBooks CD was copied onto the server. It should also be possible to install the software directly from the CD.

2. Run setup.exe (since we are installing onto the Windows platform).

The InstallShield Wizard appears. Click Next.

3. Click “I accept the terms of the license agreement” and then click Next.

4. You must enter your license code for PeopleSoft. If you are installing a demo instance, you may use the license codes available from Oracle:

http://www.oracle.com/us/support/licensecodes/peoplesoft-enterprise/index.html

In this case, the following code was used:

Database              License Code
Microsoft SQL Server  137fff-ffffff-fffffff-19ff81-7ym4o2

License codes for production environments must be obtained from Oracle.

Then click Next.

5. The search collection must be generated. If PeopleBooks for more than one product is installed, click “Generate search collection for entire site”. If you choose ‘Do not generate search collection’, the search collection can be manually created later using the mkcollection.cmd script.

Click Next.

6. You must select your web server and choose whether PIA is installed. In my instance, I chose ‘BEA WebLogic Server’ and ‘Yes’.

Then click Next.

7. Enter paths to PS_HOME, WebLogic and PSOL:

Enter the path to PS_HOME: E:PT849FS900

Enter the path to WebLogic: E:beaweblogic92

Enter the path to PSOL directory: E:PT849FS900webservfsdmoapplicationspeoplesoftPSOLhtmldoc

8. Enter installation directory for PeopleBooks:

E:PT849FS900webservfsdmoapplicationspeoplesoftPSOLhtmldoc

9. Ensure the PeopleBooks for the products you want install are checked. By default, all products are checked. Then click Next.

10. Ensure “Continue installing with currently selected PeopleBooks” is checked, and then click Next.

11. After viewing the summary screen, click Next.

The installation begins. The Generating Search Collection screen takes a few minutes.

After installation, click Finish.

Then, you will need to restart PIA. If you are using WebLogic, kill it by typing Ctrl+C in the Command Prompt screen, or stop the service. Start the service by typing startPIA.cmd or starting the service.

Log into PeopleSoft and then click the Help link. The PeopleBooks page appears.
