Requests Remain In ‘Posting’ Distribution Status

Problem:

When a new request is submitted in PeopleSoft (Main Menu > PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > System Process Requests), the request’s ‘Run Status’ completes with status ‘Success’, but the ‘Distribution Status’ remains at ‘Posting’.

Solution:

Ensure that the Process Scheduler Report Node and Distribution Details for the Server are correctly set up.

Ensure that a Report Node is set up. If one is not set up, navigate to Process Scheduler Report Nodes (Main Menu > PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > Report Nodes) and set one up (see bottom of this document for an example).

Navigate to Process Scheduler Servers (Main Menu > PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > Servers).

Click the Search button and choose the Server Name from the Search Results (e.g. PSNT).

Click the Distribution tab. Next to the Distribution Node Name, click the Look up Distribution Node Name button (the magnifying glass) and select a Distribution Node Name.

Next, ensure that the ‘Transfer System Files to Report Repository’ checkbox is checked.

Then click Save.

The final settings for the Distribution tab for the PSNT Server is as follows:

Server Name: PSNT
Distribution Node Name: PSNT
Maximum Transfer Retries: <blank>
Interval for Transfer Attempt: <blank>
Transfer System Files to Report Repository: <checked>

Also, ensure that the Report Node (also named PSNT) was set up correctly:

Node Name: PSNT
